Paula White, about the artist
For more than thirty-five years, Paula White has been an artist.  A native of New Mexico, her career began in 1971 with her mother, Marie Neely, teaching her how to paint on porcelain.  Since that time, White has studied with many noted artists in the porcelain art field as well as in watercolor, oil, acrylic and pastel.  In 1980, White wrote a techincal book, "The Essence of Luster in Porcelain Art," that is still in demand today.  White has produced several step-by-step instructional videos for the porcelain artist and has authored numerous articles for The China Decorator,  Porcelain Artist, The Australian Porcelain Decorator and the British Porcelain Artist magazines.  Her painting style encompasses techniques ranging from naturalistic to abstract expressionism.  Best known to porcelain artists for her fruits and florals, especially grapes and roses, White continually challenges her artistic ability in painting landscapes, icons, figures and animals.  She is a certified teacher of the International Porcelain Artists and Teachers and has been a member of the Professional Porcelain Artist Association since 1985.  She is an associate member of the American Academy of Women Artists.  She is member of the World Organization of China Painters (Teachers) and has recently been named as Executive Director of the museum of the WOCP located in Oklahoma City, OK.

In 1998 White founded the Paula White Home Study School of Art, an art instructional program designed for the student painting at home or in small groups.  The school consists of quarterly lessons which are mailed to the students.  Videos/DVDs as well as printed studies are all part of the educational program White has designed.
White, a noted instructor, conducts workshops and seminars under the School of Art in her studio and in other locations across the United States.  At the same time White founded her school, she began publishing "The Grapevine Quarterly," a quarterly art educational publication that includes a mini art lesson, news about her studio and the school.  The home study school has found success in the US and overseas.

Of special interest is her ability to share, when possible, the spiritual aspect of painting with her students.  She believes that a closer relationship with their Creator can bring about great transformations in the student's art.  Many painters have come to White's artist's bed and breakfast retreats for guidence, rest, relaxation and for time to explore their artistic endevors.  For further inspiration she offers her extensive library of celebrated art books and texts to her students.

White has won several awards in national and regional shows.  Her works are in many private collections in the US and abroad and she is often commissioned to create special works of art.
